The premiere of the biography of our ambassador Zbyszek Bródka took place today at the headquarters of the Polish Olympic Committee.
The gold medallist from the Sochi Games not only answered journalists' questions, but also vividly talked about what we can read in the book 'Zbigniew Bródka. The world's fastest firefighter'.
And we will find in it not only the story of the incredible and unusual circumstances of winning the gold medal at the 2014 Sochi Olympics, when Bródka overtook Dutchman Koen Verweij in the 1,500-metre race by a mere 0.003 seconds, but also many anecdotes and unknown facts from the life of the athlete combining his passion for panchans with the responsible work of a professional firefighter, who during his service goes out to fires, accidents and other incidents when human life and health are at risk.
This book is a great summary of my sporting career, which ended at the 2022 Beijing Games. The gold and - won with the team - the Olympic bronze medal will forever remain part of my history, but I am already starting the next phase of my life.
Last weekend, my third daughter Antonina was born, so I was able to win this one more 'medal' in the Olympic year" - said an emotional Zbigniew Bródka. Still, as during my sporting career, I remain an active firefighter, going to fires, accidents and other incidents. Now, I will be able to devote more time to my second passion, which I pursue while serving in the State Fire Service,' added Zbigniew Bródka.
Interestingly, during the premiere of the book organised by the Polish Olympic Committee, many issues concerned not only sport and were very surprising. For who would have expected that an answer would be sought to the question: can an Olympic champion... milk a cow?
We are very pleased to have been part of this project from the beginning and, as the publisher, to have been able to contribute our share to this book. Special thanks are due to the author of the book, sports journalist Dariusz Tuzimek, among others the author of Robert Lewandowski's biography for children and young people entitled „Lewandowski. Jak wygrać marzenia”.
